Toro model and serial numbers are engraved on a metal plate and the plate is riveted to the machine. On Commercial mowers this plate is located on the side of the frame or under the seat on the frame.

Serial number meanings:
24xxxxxx for example would be a 2004 model. 316xxxxx in your case is 2016. So the 3 started in 2010 (310xxxx).
